DOB: 23 April 1902
Died: 4 January 1967
From: St Marks/Gladstone/Port Adelaide
Beginning his big league career with Port Adelaide as a 24-year-old centreman in 1927, Conole played 61 games for the Magpies - including the 1928 premiership victory over Norwood - and once for South Australia before travelling to Victoria. He was also a cricketer with the Port Adelaide club.
Injury kept him out of the 1929 South Australian Grand Final, and despite joining Melbourne at the start of 1930 he had to wait until June to residentially qualify to play for Melbourne. He played eight games in his first year, beofre a broken thumb kept him out of the last game.
He was used as a half-back and occasional ruckman until retiring at the end of 1933.
