From: Geelong College/Geelong
Victorian state player - 1890
Former vice-captain of the Geelong College team, McLean was also a talented cricketer.
A versatile player who could fill a key position at either end of the ground or play in the centre, he joined Geelong in 1882, setting a record by kicking 25 goals in 13 games, and stayed with them until the end of 1889. He joined Melbourne for one season in 1890, declining to play against Geelong, then returned to his old club in 1892. He retired after that season.
McLean died in a railway accident near Hawthorn in 1915.
Shown as being on the committee in 1891 but not playing.
