1990 Victorian Country Teal Cup player drafted as a 16-year-old to play centre-half forward or full-forward. Wilkins played Under 19s in 1990, and both Under 19's and Reserves in 1991 wearing number 58 and number 60.

Played for Werribee from 1992 to 1994, Sebastopol in 1996, Redan in 2003. Player coached Donald to a premiership in 2004 then appeared in one as a player in 2006.

Coached East Point in 2013. Also previously an assistant coach at North Ballarat Roosters and head coach of the North Ballarat Rebels U18s.
