The 6ft 7in ruckman first played reserves in addition to his Under 19's duties in 1981 and appeared in seconds games in 1982, 1983 and 1984.
The 1984 club Annual Report credits him with six votes in the Best and Fairest despite not having played a senior game - he received votes in a night game which were counted in the main award. Midway through that year he was leased to SANFL side Central Districts and never returned to the Demons, playing eight games across 1984 and 1985.
