Played thirty games for the Dogs over five seasons with his most productive year being 1989 where Campbell played 14 games and kicked 21 goal to win the club's goalkicking. He played just eight games in his last three years, missing all of 1991 before being cleared to the Demons at the end of 1992.

He didn't play until the last two games of the 1993 season, kicking five goals. Remained on the list in 1994 but did not play seniors again and was delisted at the end of the season.

Played for Leongatha in 2001 and was later an assistant coach at Wantirna.
