Former University cricketer and practicing doctor who was recruited by Richmond after spending 1939 and 1940 with University Blacks. The Tigers swapped him to the Demons without playing a game and got Bill Morris in return.
Morris went on to win the 1948 Brownlow Medal, while Galbraith was forced to retire after just four games when he suffered a broken kneecap. He joined the Navy and served at Flinders Naval Depot in 1945.
Newspaper reports from the time describe him retiring to concentrate on his medical practice after suffering a broken foot.
