Charles Forrester

Nicknamed "Chubby", Forrester attended Scotch College until 1863 and was first named in the Carlton squad in 1866. He also played for Royal Park that year. At the end of 1868 he transferred to Melbourne along with James Byrne and Harry Chadwick after an internal dispute at Carlton.

He played for the club until at least 1878 and was captain in 1874. In his last season he only made a handful of appearances.

Forrester was appointed to the committee of the MCC in 1886, and was treasurer of the Cricket Club from 1902 until his retirement in 1930.

Served on the MFC committee in 1932 and 1933. Professionally, Forrester was in a real-estate partnership with fellow ex-Melbourne player Herbert Hammill.

Some sources show him playing with East Melbourne in 1874 and 1875 then Melbourne from 1872 to 1876
