In their last hit-out of the 2010 pre-season, the Demons withstood the early loss of Colin Sylvia with a broken jaw to stick with a near-full strength Eagles for first half.

They hit the lead in the third term but West Coast then booted the next seven goals to win comfortably.

Best were Bruce, McDonald, Miller, Moloney and Bennell.

The loss left reigning wooden spooners Melbourne with reigning premiers Geelong as the only sides not to win a game in the pre-season.
